Maynard David Portis Jr.
Maynard David Portis, Jr., a native of Mobile, AL, passed on Saturday, April 28, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife: Patricia Portis; daughter: Melinda Ellis; son: Darrell (Danielle) Portis; two sisters: Constance Taylor and Doris (Edward) Dortch; father-in-law: David (Novella) Bass; three grandchildren: Jelinda Ellis, John Wayne Ellis, Jr. and Jireh Portis; several nieces, cousins, other family members and friends.

His remains will lie in state on Friday, May 4, 2018 from 1pm- 8pm at Small’s Mortuary, Mobile.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 12pm until the 2pm Homegoing Celebration at Unity Missionary Baptist Church, 3351 Lees Lane, Mobile, Alabama. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Mobile, Alabama.
