“Now comes this child of God on her journey to her Heavenly Home”

Sister Barbara English, a native of Mobile, Alabama, was born to the union of Charles and Dorothy Smith on June 30, 1950 and exchanged this life for eternal life on Monday, December 25, 2017.

Sister Barbara English accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined the Greater Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. James Evans, Sr. She received her formal education in the Mobile County Public School System. Sister English was an employee of the Gayfer’s warehouse where she worked for many years. Although she was blessed with many talents she developed a love for sewing and crafts.

She was preceded in death by her loving father, Charles Smith and a brother, Lamont Smith

She leaves to love and cherish her memories a loving and devoted husband, Deacon Bobby English (married on November 19, 1986); a mother, Dorothy Smith; one daughter, Marian (Timothy) Mack; one sister, Shirley (Robert) Sisco; two brothers, Terry (Angela) Sabree and Labrron (Majorie) Smith; a dedicated niece, Tarajee Sabree; a devoted nephew, Anthony Overstreet; two grandchildren, Timothy and Bobby Mack; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 9am until the 11am funeral hour at Greater Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 1410 R. T. Thomas Drive, Mobile, AL. Interment will follow in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens, Theodore, AL.
