Obituary for Rodrick Franklin Williams

Mr. Rodrick Franklin Williams was born on August 12, 1987 to the union of the late Shedrick Williams Jr. and Francine Broughton Williams. Rodrick passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 24, 2019 while deployed in Tunisia, Africa as a private contractor UAV Pilot. Rodrick was a devout servant of Christ at an early age and remained a fervent Christian. He was a proud distinguished graduate of LeFlore High School class of 2005, where he was a member of the varsity football and baseball teams. Rodrick was also a proud graduate of Auburn University where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering in May 2010.

Rodrick joined the United States Army in 2011 and served two tours abroad in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Upon entering the United States Army, he received numerous distinguished honors, some include the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Two Stars, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Medal, all of which are indictive of his continued stellar service to our country. Rodrick’s passions encompassed reading, many outdoor activities such as running, hiking, fishing, tennis, and golf, in addition to being an avid Auburn University football fan.

Rodrick was preceded in death by his father Shedrick Williams Jr.; grandparents, Eula Mae Booker Williams, Shedrick Williams Sr., Willie Mae Broughton, and Daniel Chapman.

Rodrick passionately leaves his precious memories to a loving wife, Kimberly Hardin Williams; a caring mother, Pastor Francine Williams; four brothers, Shedrick Williams III, Derrick Williams Sr., Kelvin Williams, and Eric Williams Sr.; two grandmothers, Alice Chapman and Wilma Williams; ten aunts, one dedicated-Harriet Clayton; five uncles; six nephews, Eric Jr., Derrick Jr., Cameron, Kahrye, Messiah, and Major Williams; and one brother in law, Jasenn Hardin. In addition, a host of adoring great aunts, great uncles, cousins, other relatives, and special friends.
