Mr. Robert Lee Dixon was born on August 4, 1945 to the union of Herman and Louvella Dixon, Sr. in Irvington, Alabama. Robert received his formal education in the Alabama Public School System. He was a graduate of Saint Elmo High School.

Robert Dixon departed this life for his eternal home on Friday, June 7, 2019, in a local hospital.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Herman Lawrence Dixon, Sr. and Louella Dixon.

He leaves to cherish his memory a wife: Elizabeth Perkins of Mobile, AL; two sons: Jared (Sonji) Perkins of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Vincent Pope of Bayou La Batre, AL; three brothers: Herman (Effie) Dixon, Jr. of Irvington, AL, Jimmy L. Dixon of Carson, California, Bobby E. Dixon of Irvington, AL; one sister: Willie Mae (Leslie) Thompson of Irvington, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Robert was blessed with two devoted friends: Bryant Gibson and Ralph (Slug) Williams both of Irvington, AL.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 9am until the 11am funeral hour in Small’s Mortuary Chapel, 7000 Bellingrath Road, Theodore, Alabama. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Bayou La Batre, Alabama.
