Obituary for Curtis Lee Bettis

Mr. Curtis Lee Bettis was born on July 1, 1960 in Gosport, Alabama to Martha Bettis.

Mr. Bettis attended Mattie T. Blount High School and graduated in 1978. He later assisted in coaching the track team at Blount High School—the school he loved dearly. Mr. Bettis joined the army in 1980. He bravely served his country, but later received honorable discharge. Mr. Bettis continued as a faithful resident of Prichard, Alabama until he transitioned on May 22, 2019. Mr. Bettis was preceded in death by his grandparents, Allen Clark and Queen Easter Bettis; and Jimmie King and Lula Mae King.

He leaves to cherish his life and memories, his beloved mother, Martha Bettis; his sister, Mary Bettis; and his nephew, Tremaine Bettis, all of whom reside in Prichard, Alabama. He leaves three aunts--one devoted, Mother Mary Williams. He leaves four uncles—one devoted, Jimmie King, Jr. He leaves a devoted godson, Deaundre Green. He leaves a devoted friend, Aaron Woods. Mr. Bettis also leaves a host of cousins and friends who will greatly miss him.

The fact that you’re no longer here will always cause us pain,
But you’re forever in our hearts until we meet again.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 9am until the 11am funeral hour at Living Waters Apostolic Ministries, 5229 St. Stephens Road, Mobile, AL.

Interment will follow in Gethsemane North Cemetery, Eight Mile, AL.
