Cordelia Quinsey was born on August 14, 1932 to the late Leslie and Isabelle Ruggs. She heard the Angel of God whispered “Come and take your rest” on Saturday, April 13, 2019. Mrs. Quinsey was a longtime member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. She was a dedicated member and served as secretary of the Eleanor Chapter #62 Order Of Eastern Star. She retired from Saraland Elementary School as a Special Education Teacher. She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted daughter and caretaker: Vera Jiles; 2 sons: Reginald and William Quinsey; special daughter: Cassandra Holmes; 3 stepchildren: Leslie (Iris) Quinsey, Carmen Quinsey, Twanda (Robert) Brown; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Her remains will lie in state on Friday, April 19, 2019 from 5-8pm at Small’s Mortuary, Mobile. A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 8am until the 10am funeral hour at Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 605 Donald St., Mobile, AL. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Mobile, AL.
