Obituary for Carolyn Ann Campbell

Celebrating Her Life, Remembering Her Spirit

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21:4

Carolyn Ann Campbell, a native of Thomasville, AL., exchanged this life for eternity on Saturday, June , 2019, surrounded by her loving family at home in Mobile, AL.

Carolyn Ann Campbell was born March 8, 1951, to Johnny Davis and the late Willie Clyde Cairl in Thomasville, AL. On Saturday, June 8, 2019, God shouted out, his voice filled with love, “I make earth new with Heaven above,” and took her to the mansion in glory. Carolyn graduated with the class of 1969 from A.L. Martin High School. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and joined First Baptist Church at an early age. She was a faithful member under Rev. C.H. Manzie and later under Rev. Carlton Hogue where she remained a faithful member until her health began to fail. Carolyn loved serving the Lord and served faithfully as a member of the culinary committee for years. Carolyn united in holy matrimony to her loving, devoted and dedicated husband Earnest James Campbell on August 15, 1978 where they raised four children, six grandchildren, and a niece. Due to the fact of having a large family, she also added the title of cook, baker, and barber to her list of labors.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother, Willie Clyde Cairl.

To celebrate Carolyn’s new life and her legacy, she leaves to cherish a loving and devoted family: father: Johnny (Juanita) Davis (Columbus, Ga; dear husband: Earnest J. Campbell; two daughters: Sharon Cairl (Mobile, AL), Pamela Cairl (Mobile, AL); two sons: Erick Campbell (Columbus, OH), and Aaron (Tonya) Campbell (Fairburn, GA); six grandchildren: Shakira Campbell, Shakeria Campbell, Jordan Campbell, Dominic Campbell, Blakely Cairl, and Kendall Campbell; five sisters: Christine Nixon, Sandra Cairl, Dwanda Dukes, Twanda Stennis, and Keisha (Philbrick) McDaniel; one brother: Jerry Cairl; four brothers-in-law: Marshall (Doris) Campbell, Willie C. Campbell, Joseph Campbell, and Derrick (Adrienne) Campbell; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 10am until the 11am funeral hour at Greater First Baptist Church, 181 Nicole Avenue S.E., Thomasville, AL.
