Obituary for Lillie Turner

Sister Lillie Lee Turner, transcended to Glory on April 23, 2019. Lillie was born to the late Jessie (Mattie) Turner in Halsell, Alabama. She confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized in 1944 at John the Baptist Church in Halsell, Alabama. After her family moved to Mobile, Alabama she joined Revelation Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev N.J. Matthews in 1946. She was preceded in death by her parents; Jessie and Mattie Turner, a devoted great-aunt; Viola R. Rowe, a devoted baby sister; Ann Larkins, a devoted baby brother; Dwight D. Turner, and a loving great grandson; Kinshata (Shata) White Jr.

Lillie served faithfully at Revelation until her health begin to fail. She served as a member of the Usher Board, N.J. Matthews Chorus, Matrons, Missions, and on the Deaconess Board. Lillie retired as Director of the Taylor’s Kindercare for over 25 years transforming the Daycare into a successful operation.

She leaves to cherish her memory her two devoted children, Viola White and Michael White; loving and devoted grandchildren, Kinshata-KK (Mary) White, Chelsea (Dwight) Blackston, Jeffrey White, Jahlun White, and Carlyn White; 10 loving great-grandchildren, Kalil, Isaiah, Isaac(Pooty), Moshinqua, Moaaliyah, Tre’sur, Malaysia, Jordyn, Jada, and Codi; two sisters, Jessie M. Cox and Helen (Beauford) Blackmon; one devoted aunt, Annie Pearl Shack; two goddaughters, Darlette Lucy and Jaqueshanda Tucker; one god sister, Barbara King; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family and friends.
