Brother Joe “Joey” Hunter III was born on July 27, 1952 in Summerdale, Alabama to Joe and Rosa Johnson Hunter Jr. His earthly home was exchanged for heavenly home on May 4, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, a loving wife Kay Francis James, one sister Barbara Hunter Jones, one brother Freddie Lee Hunter. His father and mother-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. James McGill.

To cherish his memory, he leaves one son, Demetrius D. Hunter, one step-son Terry James; one step-daughter, Phyllis Clarke; Six grandchildren; Four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lenora Leatherwood and Ethel (Earl) Bodiford, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
