Obituary for Jessie James Harris

for Bro. Jessie James Harris, born November 4th, 1944 to Roosevelt Harris and Bertha Morton. Departed this life on March 8th, 2019. Bro. Harris relocated to Hempstead, New York, where he was employed as a machinist. He was a New York licensed cosmetologist after attending Hempstead School of Cosmetology in 1981. He returned to Mobile in 1982, where he, his wife and In-Laws opened a cosmetology shop in the Toulminville area. Bro. Harris also sold Black Art in and around Mobile. Bro Harris was on staff and later retired from the Riverview Plaza Hotel in downtown Mobile. Bro. Harris was a member of Goodwill Church Ministries for the past 10 years.

He was proceeded in death by his Father, Roosevelt Harris; Mother, Bertha Moore; Step-Father, Paul Moore; Sister, Mable Harris; Brother Elbert Moore and Sister In-Law Ianthia Field (Willie) Grier.

He is survived by a loving, 100% devoted and Virtuous Wife Deloris Harris; a loving son, Shawn Harris; a granddaughter (Jammenicia wallace); grandson, (Marco Jackson); one great grand(Jaylen Wallace); four sisters: Geneva (Carey Jr) Caffey, Charlene (James) Thomas, Ella Dee Moore (N.Y.) and Bernice Moore (California); two brothers, Paul Moore Jr.(N.Y) and Clevland (Pam) Moore; a loving niece, Brenda Morris; 2 Sisters-In-Law: Jaunita (Warren) Nelson and Twantella Dell (Hubert) Randolph; three Brothers-In-Law: Samuel (Antonio) Marsh Jr., Alfred Marsh, Scratman (Nazaree) Marsh; a loving friend: Samuel (Onetha) Randolph and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and church family.
