Obituary for Henderson Raymond Walker Sr.

Elder Henderson Walker, born December 25 1935 in Earl Arkansas to the late John & Willie Walker. Elder Walker departed this life for eternity on Monday April 22, 2019 at his home in Eight Mile Al. Elder Walker confessed his life to Christ in 1993 and later was ordained as a Minister by the late Bishop L.C. Berry. Elder Walker was a talented man, he loved to work around the house and play with his grandchildren. He also loved to sing and Give God the praise. One of his favorite songs was "Help me help me Lord".
In his working years, he owned his own restaurant called " Covert Family Restaurant" and he later, retired from Covert Public School transportation department, as a Bus garage Supervisor. In the year of 1999/2000 Elder Walker moved to Mobile, AL and joined Mauvilla Church Of God Pentecostal under the leadership of Elder Alphonso Wright; he was then ordained as a Elder and Assistant Pastor there, where he served faithfully until death.
Mr. Walker is preceded in death by two sisters Frances Coleman and Lucille Wood; One Son Maurice Walker; one Daughter Willie Battle; and one brother-in-law, Johnny Evans.
He leaves to cherish his memories, His devoted wife of 52 years, Mary Lou Walker; two sons, Henderson (Vanessa) Walker of Eight Mile Al and Fred (Tonya) Walker of Hartford Michigan; two daughters Jessica (Vern) Jefferies of and Stephanie White, both of South Haven Michigan;
sixteen grandchildren; one devoted grandson; four devoted granddaughters: Giovonnah (Reginald) Williams of Mount Vernon AL, Kendra Jennings, Ashley Jennings and Veronica Day all of Eight Mile AL; Eleven Great-grand's ;one God son, Rashard Burton of Eight Mile Al; one sister, Maggie Wood of Homestead Fl; one aunt, Lucille Davis of South Bend Indiana, one sister-in-law, Bertha Ward of Detroit Michigan; two brother's-in-law, Eugene (Tammy) Evans of Akron Al and Robert Williams of Foley Al; one devoted friend since 1965, Emmanuel (Lillian) Hamilton of Eight Mile Al; two devoted nieces, Consuella (Marcus) Johnson of Eight Mile AL and Lillian (Marcus) Bagby of Dickson Missouri; and a Host of nieces, nephews and friends.
