Obituary for Clyde W Foster

Clyde Walter Foster, Sr. passed away on March 30, 2019 at his residence in Mobile, Alabama. He had just turned 73 the day before on March 29, 2019. He was born in Luverne, Alabama and was raised in the modest town of Bronwood ,Georgia. He served in the military from 1964-67 before moving to New York. He served in the NYPD until he retired in 1989. He then moved back to his home state of Alabama, where he served with other municipalities including Prichard and Mobile. He owned and operated his own truck until May of 2015 when he retired. Clyde was a man who valued hard work, honesty, and family above all else. He was oft misunderstood, but he had a big heart that would take care of the world if he was able to. He is survived by his wife: Yvette Foster; four children: Christopher Lamar Foster, Ashley Nicole Foster-Miller, Clyde Walter Foster Jr, Courtney Alisha Foster; as well as four grandchildren: Christopher Foster Jr, Haley Foster, Taylor Gabrielle Sistrunk, and Gary Miller III. His Memorial Service will begin at 11am on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Toulminville Warren Street United Methodist Church. Special thanks to everyone who has offered prayer, a kind word and support to the Foster family as they mourn the loss of a one of a kind father, man and leader.
