Obituary for Charletta McCorvey

Charletta Freeman McCorvey Coleman, a native of Mobile (Crichton) Alabama was born on March 10, 1954 to Jerry and Ida Lee Freeman. She went home to be with the lord on February 21, 2019. She attended L.B. Warren, Booker T. Washington, and Murphy High Schools. Charletta attended the Career Development Institute for nursing and received her CNA License. She was formally employed at Seabreeze and Montrose Bay nursing homes.
She was a faithful member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Daphne, Alabama where she served in the Mission Ministry and Women’s Sunday School Class as well as attending the Wednesday Night Bible Studies. She loved the Lord and was deeply rooted in her Bible. Her favorite scripture was Psalms 91. She enjoyed cooking and her favorite dish was spaghetti and meatballs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Virgil Lee and Jimmy Lee. She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted husband, Leotis Coleman; her children, Chester (Tara) Cromwell, Ester McCorvey III, Eric X McCorvey and Marlon McCorvey; Courtney (Carlos) Davis, all of Mobile, AL Tenisha (Spirit) Hooks, Birmingham, AL; grandchildren Tarris Cromwell, Carl (Elesia) Cromwell, Jekhi Williams, Laylah and Halei Kirksey, Derrick Osborne, Nakoda Coleman, Darius Dunklin, Amari Craig, Eric McCorvey, Jr.; Adden McCorvey, Ayanna McCorvey, Latasgia McCorvey, Jalen McCorvey, Joydyn McCorvey, Endeya McCorvey, and Lachina McCorvey, all of Mobile, AL; sisters, Geraldine Malone, Leeanna Freeman, and Hattie Henderson, all of Mobile, AL. 10 great grandchildren, a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins, one devoted Daisy Primm, nephews and nieces one devoted Jawana Freeman; one brother-in-law, five sisters-in-law, other relatives and Friends.
