Carol Jean Jackson was born May 6,1954 to Marie Theresa Jones and Austin F. Grigsby, Sr.
She accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at the Antioch Missionary Baptist
Church under the leadership of the Rev. N.J. Matthews. She was a current member of City
Hope Church in Malbis, Alabama where Rev. Jerry Taylor is the Pastor.
Carol was a 1972 graduate of Fairhope High School and received her B.S. Degree in
Business Administration from Redlands University in Redlands, California. She was
employed by Xerox and TRW in Los Angeles, California. Upon moving back to Alabama,
she ,was employed with the Mobile County Sherriff Department for 10 years.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Oscar V. Jackson, Daphne, Alabama;
her children who she adored dearly; son, Marlin T. Jackson, daughter, Kristi Jackson, both
of Daphne, Alabama; one step-daughter, Carmelita Bartush, Robertsdale, Alabama; her
daddy, John L. Leath, Daphne, Alabama; four grandchildren, Kayla Jackson, Atlanta,
Georgia, Alex Bartush, Ladarius (Luna) 'Bartush, Devon Bartush all of Robertsdale,
Alabama; two great-grand children, Luna and Asher Bartush, Robertsdale, Alabama; three
sisters, Lavaughn (Clarence) Lee, Jewel (Matt Simms) Lawson, all of Daphne, Alabama,
Paula Anderson, Rancho Cucamonga, California; four brothers; Broderick Leath, Joseph
